Description :

Annotated list of the passengers travelling on the Buffalo (ship) from England to South Australia in 1836: a typescript copy of the original list held in the Colonial Secretary's Office in London. Annotations to the typescript were made by the archivist who processed the record. Individual passengers have been grouped together as members of families, with the age of children recorded as either under or over 15 years. The annotations sometimes give references to related material, including inscriptions on the original document by Sir John Hindmarsh.

Family names include Hindmarsh, Fisher, Stevenson, Howard, Strangways, Sladdon, Breaker, Moore, Cock, Bennet, Chittleborough, Middleton, Oakley, Harvey, Abbot, Walker, Broadbent, Adams, Ferguson and many others totalling 173 passengers.
