Description :
The State Library holds more than 200 segments of film taken by Percival Moody. Born at Kent Town in 1890, Moody was a philanthropist, company director and keen motor hobbyist, founding the Harley-Davidson Motor Cycle Club and the Outboard Club of South Australia.

Moody filmed historic South Australian events, occasions and attractions between 1929-1950, and raised funds for charity through public film screenings.

In 1936 South Australia celebrated 100 years since the foundation of the state as a British colony.

One of the events held to mark the occasion was the Floral festival, and this footage shows scenes from the accompanying pageant.

Other events included theatrical productions, a children's Empire pageant, a re-enactment of the landing of the Buffalo and the grand finale, a Pageant of Progress, held in December.
