A group of children sitting on the floor in front of a librarian, Mrs Gladys Fenemore-Jones, while she reads a book to them called "A Fly Went By" during Book Week in 1968.

Book Week has been an annual event in Australia since 1945. Each year public libraries and schools develop activities and competitions designed to teach children about the importance of books and reading, with an emphasis on Australian authors and illustrators. The theme for Book Week in 1968 was 'Come Alive with Books'.
