The Port Augusta Racing Club was well known throughout the north, particularly for its "Race Week" held each year from the first in 1881 which was held on the 29 November 1881. The Port Augusta Cup is still held annually each July. The printing of programmes for functions and events on silk was relatively common at this time. Silk programmes are also more durable than the usual paper programmes. |
