Art of nature
One of the major strengths of the State Library collections is its early Australiana. This includes rare early depictions of Australian flora and fauna, as well as many original works by Australian artists. Art of nature, a new exhibition in the State Library's Treasures Wall, showcases published works of John Gould, Charles Lesueur and George Perry, alongside exquisite artwork by Rosa Fiveash, William Webster Hoare and Commander James Emery. Art of Nature, a selection of botanical, bird and fauna depictions is on display in the State Library Treasures Wall from 1 December 2014 to 31 March 2015.
