Description :
The transplanted Christmas tradition of cosy indoor celebrations in a northern winter does have questionable relevance to Australia. Christmas emblems such as reindeer, pine trees, holly and mistletoe are alien to the Australian continent. However Christmas music in its many forms still has the power to evoke the Christmas spirit.
Robert Bruce came to South Australia in 1853 and was associated with the Coondambo Station, north-west of Port Augusta.
He was a writer of poetry, prose and songs, thirteen of which were published in England.
