Balgowan

Balgowan was named by Governor Jervois on 23 November 1878 and proclaimed on 6 February 1879.

Once a small but bustling port, Balgowan is now a popular holiday destination, especially for fishing trips. The Balgowan sand dunes were included on the Register of the National Estate in 1988 for their near pristine condition, birdlife and vegetation.
