Description :

The poster provides a brief history of the Point Pearce mission.

In November 2003, SA Link-up coordinated a reunion at Point Pearce, attended by up to 400 past and present residents.

'Welcome back to Point Pearce' was the idea of Rev. Sid Graham, who was removed from the community as a baby. The reunion began with Rev. Graham, and other Narungga who had been removed from their families, being symbolically welcomed back to their country, led by students of the Point Pearce school.

As well as being a journey of healing for those individuals and the community as a whole, the event served to build awareness of the ongoing practice and affects of the removal of children from their family networks and homes.

Rev. Graham wished that the event may "be the start of all Point Pearce people coming together to respect and to acknowledge those who left them at a very young age."

His story of separation and reunion is one of five told in the film Why me?
