Description :

A view of the Bridge and the Punt across the River Murray

The Paringa punt is motorised in this image and is in its final days of operation as the Paringa road and rail bridge nears completion. The bridge was officially opened 31 January 1927 and the punt was discontinued and eventually re-located to Lyrup.

The tall centre section of the bridge allows for the passage underneath of paddleboat steamers with their tall funnels.
