Description :
The English novelist Arthur Conan Doyle first became interested in psychic research during his time as a young doctor in Southsea, in the late 1880s. Following the death of his son during the First World War he began openly to explore spiritualism and life after death. In September 1920 Conan Doyle and his family arrived in Adelaide at the beginning of a lecture tour of Australia. In the wake of the great loss of life through the War, thousands flocked to hear him talk about life after death.
