Description :

Anlaby woolshed with workers outside and flock of sheep in foreground.

Situated near Kapunda, north of Adelaide, the Anlaby homestead was established in 1840 by Frederick Hansborough Dutton and managed by his brother Francis. Anlaby grew from its original 120 acres with 20,000 sheep to 70,000 acres with 60,000 sheep. In 1884 55,000 sheep were shorn at Anlaby. The station remained in the Dutton family until the late 20th century.

Francis discovered copper on the property in 1842 and with his neighbour, CH Bagot, established the Kapunda Mine.
