Description :

Renmark Avenue, Renmark during a dust storm.

Dust whipped up by the wind sweeps through the streets of Renmark; storms such as these generally follow as an aftermath of drought when the dry soil, no longer held in place by vegetation is easily lifted and blown away. Native vegetation clearance and intensive farming contribute to dust storms, as does over grazing by stock, possibly in the pastoral lands north of Renmark and the River Murray.
