Description :

Onkaparinga River, looking South West at Noarlunga.

The Onkaparinga River is the longest river wholly located in South Australia and Onkaparinga estuary is the state's third largest estuary in extent after the Murray/Coorong and the Port River/Barker Inlet (Coast Protection Board 1985). The river flows from the southern Mount Lofty Ranges through steep gullies and gorges and then out onto the coastal plains at Noarlunga before reaching the sea.
