Description :

The wreck of the Steamer Admella, which occurred 18 miles north west of Cape Northumberland. This sketch, by HD Melville, HM Customs, is the view from the shore on the morning of 14 August 1859, 8 days after her loss. Two steamers are in attendance, the Lady Bird and the Ant, and their lifeboats are attempting a rescue
