Adelaide madams and sex industry reform advocates, Stormy Summers, Sylvia, Dianne, Helen Vicqua and David Smith photographed on a balcony above Stormy's Studio in Waymouth Street. At the time, Australian Democrats leader, Ian Gillfillan, had put a Bill before South Australian Parliament, seeking to decriminalise prostitution. The Advertiser newspaper reported that Adelaide's prostitutes and escorts were threatening to don suspenders and stockings and storm Parliament unless prostitution was decriminalised. Neither event occurred. |
