Description :

Adelaide Entertainment Centre was officially opened on 20 July 1991 by the Honourable John Bannon, Premier of South Australia. Building of the venue to stage international artists and entertainment had commenced in early 1990. The Centre is located close to the city at the corner of Port Road and Adam Street at Hindmarsh. It can accommodate a range of events, including sporting events, entertainment performances, banquets, exhibitions, conventions, and trade fairs. This arena is the largest indoor arena in South Australia; with an attendance capacity of almost 12,000 people.

The opening performances staged during 9-24 August 1991 featured award winning ice skating pair Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean and stars of the Great Moscow Circus.
