Description :

The last chapter of Dutton's book is about the Aboriginal people of South Australia. In this he writes about some of the schemes used in the other colonies to assist the Aboriginal people and then describes Edward Eyre's post at Moorunde, and the influence it has had on stabilising relations between the white settlers and the Aboriginal people. The illustration shows Eyre weighing out rations for them, and is based on an original drawing by George Hamilton.
