George Fisher, responsible for this deceptively simple-looking binding has been called 'the finest British finisher of his generation'. The limited edition of Davies' Selected poems published by the Gregynog Press in 1928 had 25 copies bound in green morocco with a gilt pattern of fillet and leaves and a series of parallel lines running over the spine to the back cover. The binding is protected by a cloth folder and a slip-case. Fisher executed a number of bindings for the Gregynog Press during the 1920s and 1930s.
