Description :
The State Library holds more than 200 segments of film taken by Percival Moody. Born at Kent Town in 1890, Moody was a philanthropist, company director and keen motor hobbyist, founding the Harley-Davidson Motor Cycle Club and the Outboard Club of South Australia.

Moody filmed historic South Australian events, occasions and attractions between 1929-1950, and raised funds for charity through public film screenings.

These two clips show scenes from Port Lincoln and surrounds taken in 1936.

The first contains footage of horse-drawn vehicles unloading goods on the Port Lincoln jetty followed by views of Saint Matthew's Anglican Church, formerly part of the Poonindie Mission.

The second documents the natural beauty of nearby Whaler's Way, including shots of Cape Wiles, Cape Carnot (spelled Garnaut by Moody), Theakstone's Crevasse and the churning Southern Ocean.
