"This ... video ... is a celebration of the wider Campbelltown Community in the year 2001 and looks at community and business life, education, culture, religion, infrastructure, the role of the council, facilities and opportunities for residents and a host of other community features ... Established in 1868, the City of Campbelltown now has approximately 46,000 residents, almost 30% of whom were born overseas. (2006 Census) This video, made by Campbelltown City Council as part of the commemoration of Australia's Centenary of Federation in 2001, was distributed free to all households in the district. Migrants examines the cultural diversity of the community by discussing the significant contributions migrants have made to the cultural, business and social life of the precinct. Faith and worship looks at the various religious denominations present in Campbelltown, further highlighting the diversity of the community. |
