Description :

This correspondence between the colonies of South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales highlights the inter-colonial rivalry that existed then and persists today between the states over rights to the waters of the River Murray. The correspondence led to the Inter-state Royal Commission of 1902 and eventually to the River Murray Waters Agreement.
