Description :
Dr AA Lendon's residence at 218 North Terrace was an extravagantly detailed house. Built in 1897 and designed by English and Soward architects, it combined elements of the Tudor revival style of mullions and half timbered gables and Queen Anne style with terracotta roof tiles and finials and several small wooden balconies and large stucco friezes.

The house was bought by Arthur Hayward in 1930 and was replaced by the John Martin's (now David Jones) multi-storey carpark in 1965. Apartments have now been built above this.
