As the first International Women's Day march moves along Rundle Street a male pianist plays on. The accompanying article, titled 'The Women's Privilege' said, '"The girls just decided to change their minds in the last minute and walk along the road." This was the explanation yesterday of a Women's Liberation Movement spokeswoman for the 175 marchers on Saturday spreading from the footpath to the roadway in Rundle Street. Police were confronted with an unexpected situation. ... Banner carrying, slogan-chanting women, dressed in anything from see-through dresses to jeans and T-shirts, filed through busy Saturday morning traffic. ...
