Description :

One of 17 South Australian World War One posters, issued by SA State Records as postcards in a portfolio.

In a pre-electronic era, leaflets and posters were used extensively by the Australian Government to rally public support for involvement in the war, recruitment to military service, and fund raising. Emotive text and images were employed to influence public opinion and strengthen patriotism.

This South Australian World War One poster shows a small girl clutching a war bond, with the caption 'My daddy bought me a War Loan Bond. Did yours?'
