Souvenir folder of 8 photographs showing scenes in and around Port Augusta including the wharves and Gladstone Square.

As transport networks expanded, including rail, road and shipping, improved tourism developed. After the Second World War a period of prosperity set in which created the foundations for the rise of mass tourism. Economic growth, accompanied by rising incomes, longer annual leave, long service provisions, and job security, made it possible for many more Australians to take a holiday.
