The Adelaide Cabaret Festival was first held in 2001. Music performed at the Festival ranges from pure cabaret to jazz to lounge and beyond. The music of the Rat Pack, Edith Piaf, Shirley Bassey, Ennio Morricone, Barbra Streisand, Stephen Sondheim, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Noel Coward, Kurt Weill, Burt Bacharach and Henry Mancini has all featured at past festivals. The Adelaide Cabaret Festival program also includes theatre, comedy and a series of Master Class forums run by festival performers for practitioners and members of the general public. Past performers at the festival include the Adelaide Art Orchestra, KT Sullivan, Mark Nadler Toni Lamond, Robyn Archer, Paul Grabowsky Peter J Casey, Caroline Nin, Mika Haka, Caroline O'Connor and Combo Fiasco. |
