Description : |
The French Festival is organised by Alliance Francaise d'Adelaide to promote French language and culture to South Australians and to encourage relations between Australia and France. The three day festival has been held since 2000 at the historic Carrick Hill house in the Adelaide suburb of Springfield. The Festival celebrates a different region of France each year. This poster advertises the 2002 festival when Rhone-Alpes was the featured region. The French Festival hosts performances of theatre and music including a picnic concert which opens the Festival. Artists and performers are from Adelaide, other parts of Australia and from France. Food and wine from the featured region are available through cooking demonstrations, wine tastings and many stalls. |
