Article about the first Violet Day held in Adelaide. Violet Day was founded as a day of remembrance for Australian soldiers killed in Gallipoli and Egypt and small posies of "the humble, but beautiful" violet were sold by the Cheer-Up Society to raise funds for the establishment on a permanent club for returned soldiers |
