Description : |
The 'ride a cock horse' float appearing in the 1957 Christmas Pageant. When Edward Heyward, the chairman of John Martins department store, conceived the idea of an annual Christmas Pageant in 1933 his idea was that characters from fairy tales and nursery rhymes would accompany Father Christmas to the Magic Cave. This tradition continues today with floats such as Rapunzel, Cinderella and Puss in Boots featured in the 2005 line-up. |
