Demonstrators protesting against NATO standing on the steps of Parliament House, Adelaide, South Australia. Thousands of people demonstrated in major Australian cities on 29 March 1999, condeming the NATO operations in Yugoslavia and calling for peace. Eight thousand protested in Sydney and 6,000 in Melbourne. Smaller rallies were held in Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, and Hobart. |
