Over 300 people attended a protest rally outside the office of the Attorney General's Department in Pirie Street on 11 December 1992. This followed the decision of a Supreme Court jury to acquit two men charged with bashing a gay man, one of a spate of gay bashings in the city at the time. The protest was arranged by the Lesbian and Gay Community Action Group (LGCA) who presented Attorney General, Chris Sumner, with a letter calling for legal reforms. |
