Description :
Having built and paid the outstanding debts of a country church, it was a big day when the church members were able to add a hall, which would see the extension of church activities in providing a more functional venue to the church precinct. The related official occasions were red-letter days not only for the church members but for the whole local community. In 1896 Christ Church Anglican church at Kapunda began building a parish hall and invited the Bishop of Adelaide, the Rt. Rev. John Harmer, to officiate at the laying of the foundation stone.
