Description : |
William 'California' Taylor was the first itinerant evangelist to visit South Australia. From the United States he made a lengthy tour of New Zealand and Australia, spending several months in South Australia in 1865. He conducted missions at the Pirie Street and Kent Town Wesleyan churches, as well as in several country towns. The early Methodist churches in South Australia were particularly inspired by his work. |
