The Victor Harbor Salvation Army Corps was established in 1884 under the leadership of Captain Susan Fulton. Initially the Corps held meetings in the Institute and in the old Wesleyan Church. Several of the local Aboriginal people were members, including Ephraim Tripp. The Tripp family were well-known in the town. Ephraim Tripp was a talented local footballer and also played the organ. Other local people who were members of the Salvation Army at Victor Harbour included the Sharman, Ticklie and Scarlett families. |
