Description : |
Advertisement for W. Bickford, listing a number of products sold, including the note 'A constant supply of healthy Leeches'. Bickford established his business on Hindley Street in 1840. He was the first retail chemist in Adelaide. It is interesting to note that as well as selling pharmaceuticals, as we would expect from a chemist today, Bickford also stocked snuffs and cigars and condiments such as 'India curry powder' and pickles! |
