Men employed by JA Holden & Co. working on horse collars, probably at the company's Grenfell Street premises. James Alexander Holden established a saddlery in Adelaide in 1856. As his business grew, Holden became a leader of the Adelaide business community - becoming chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and active in the foundation of the Chamber of Manufactures. |
