Description : |
Brochure advertising the features of the HG Monaro range. The Monaro (Holden's two-door coupe) had first been introduced in the range of the 1968-69 HK Holden. With its powerful V8 engine, individual look based on American 'muscle cars' and success in racing (the HK Monaro GTS 327 took first, second and third place at Bathurst in 1968) the Monaro soon earned a place in the heart of Australian car enthusiasts. The HG Holden was launched in July 1970. The product range included the Belmont sedan, utility, wagon and panel van; the Kingswood sedan, wagon and utility; the Premier sedan and wagon; the Brougham and the Monaro coupe, GTS coupe and GTS 350 coupe. The Monaro models of the 60s and 70s were so popular with enthusiasts that when a new Monaro was produced as a concept car for the 1998 Sydney Motor Show orders were received even before the car went into production. The new Monaro was launched in October 2001. |
