Description :

A Fawn Hopping-mouse (Notomys cervinus) taken at Ooldea. This mouse appears to live in small family groups, leaving their burrows at night to forage for hundreds of metres. It does not need to drink fresh water but gets its water from green plant material and insects.

It is a true rodent, not a marsupial.
