Description : |
Photographs of English female impersonator, Bert Errol, appearing at the Theatre Royal. "Perhaps the highest paid artist is Bert Errol, the female impersonator, whose turn is entirely uncommon and refined. With a rich soprano voice, good figure, sparkling eyes, and a back and shoulders that would turn any woman green with envy, he wears the latest fashion models with perfect ease and distinction. As a bride, in beautiful white shimmering crinoline satin, and quaint head dress and veil, his carriage is mincingly effective, and the small bridal posey is responsible for much bye-play. ... Later 'she' wears a black carbon-studded gown which glitters and sparkles with myriads of lights, as it clings to the sylph like figure. A grey shingled wig is worn, on which a diamond bandeau scintillates. Tiny feet in the latest of evening shoes and silken hosiery, are all in keeping with the effeminacy of this artist. |
