Description :

Letters to the editor reflecting the diversity of opinion on Australia's involvement in the Iraq War.

The letters from those against the war show dismay that the anti-war sentiments expressed by many Australians were ignored, that going to war with Iraq was anti-democratic and that Australia was supporting the war only to protect its relationship with the US. Letters from those who believed the war inevitable express disapproval of the peace protestors and disillusionment with the United Nations.

Coverage year : 2003
Period : 2001-
