Article recounting the experiences of Adelaide woman Ruth Russell who went to Iraq as a human shield. During the war in Iraq, human shields came from many countries around the world and were stationed at sites important to the day-to-day life of Iraqi citizens. It was hoped that the sites would not be attacked if civilians from other nations might be harmed. |
