Description :

Green and beige striped oval hat box with lid, featuring central picture of a woman. The box contains a lift out tray with six swatches of various coloured tulle, three spools of coloured silks, two straw hats, onw felt hat, two feathers and coloured netting for decorating the hats.

This toy provided the basis for decorating hats to a variety of styles for your doll. This would have been a delight for the young milliner and little enticement would have been necessary to persuade her to apply her fingers to adding further decoration to the little hats. Only the imagination was her limit.

The hat box belonged to Freya Heysen, wife of E S Booth.
