The parents and sister of Mrs. Ene-Mai Reinpuu, after arrival in Australia from Estonia, at the Bonegilla transit camp. Ene-Mai Reinpuu was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the Queen's Birthday honours list, 1998, for service to the Estonian community for more than 30 years, particularly as president and honorary secretary of the Estonian Society of Adelaide, and as honorary secretary of the Council of Estonian Societies in Australia. Ene-Mai Reinpuu, nee Prima, was born in Tartu, Estonia in 1932. At 12 years old she left Estonia as a refugee with her parents fleeing the threat of Russian invasion. They arrived in South Australia in 1949. |
