Adelaide woman Ruth Russell decided to go to Iraq as a human shield after hearing a programme on the radio about the scheme. In the selections presented here Ruth speaks about her decision to go to Iraq, the sites the human shields protected, the welcome received from the Iraqi people, the events organised by the human shields, what happened when the bombing started and some of the devastation she saw. |
