North Terrace. From a sketch by J.C. Hailes, 1840. [Probably 1841. Hailes was the publisher only. Probably painted by E.A. Opie. See S.A. News Nov 15, 1841 p.54]

This image is from an album of Adelaide sketches called 'Fourteen Views of Old Adelaide' 1840-1849 by S.T. Gill, F.R. Nixon, S.Calvert & O. Korn, published by Calbraith & Son, Lithographers, Gresham St., Adelaide. It depicts the early town and the bustling development within the grwoing streets.
