Three letters written by RM Orchard, the Minister in Charge of Recruiting, Australian Department of Defence, outlining the case for volunteering for active service in the armed services through the 'Voluntary Recruiting Ballot' and presumed sent to the South Australian State Recruiting Committee. Letters printed on sheet designed to be folded and sealed using flap at head of sheet. One penny postage stamp printed in red on verso. All letters refer to pamphlets posted separately to arrive at the same time as the letters. First letter dated September 1918, second letter dated September 1918 and third letter dated October 1918. |
