The reminiscences of Rosemary McGann, who lived in the South-East during the second World War. Her grandparents were assigned an Italian prisoner of war, Amedeo Bonvecchi (Tony), who became a lifelong family friend. Letters written to the family by Tony after the war are also included. The photographs show Amedeo's village of Apiro, Amedeo with his friend Orlando Canterini (on left) taken in the Clare Valley while POW's, and a photo taken near Apiro in 1990 of Amedeo with Pauline Jenner, sister of Rosemary. |
