List of emigrants on the Hartley (ship) from London, which arrived in South Australia 28 October 1837. The list includes William Giles and William Beavis Randell, soon to be company officials in the colony, and their families, the Rev. Thomas Quinton Stow, first Congregational minister, and his family and John Banks Shepherdson, the first school teacher, and his family. It also includes the baby George Hartley Giles, born at sea and named for the ship. Hartley was a three-masted ship built at Sunderland in 1836. Her owner/captain was Thomas Fewson.
