Description :
Prolific early newspaper printer and publisher George Dehane, with the editorship of Marcus Collisson, produced this newspaper which largely consists of long tirades against Roman Catholicism and in particular its local representative at the time, Bishop Murphy. The South Australian Register was supportive of the Roman Catholic church, for which it was criticised in the pages of Australiana. Only three issues of this newspaper are held by the State Library.
