A two page typewritten document headed 'Broadcast to schools', written by Leonora Polkinghorne. Writing in a sardonic tone, she gives counter arguments to the accepted patriotic views on fundraising for the war effort by schoolchildren which would have prevailed at the time. Date not shown but probably c1942. Mrs Polkinghorne was a noted pacificist. |
